COMMUNICATION: THE KEY TO SUCCESS

Good communication is not only crucial to sales success but is the key. You can’t make a sale unless you’ve proven the value of your product or service. And you can’t do that without understanding existing problems and forming a strategy that shows how your product or service will solve them. It all comes down to communication. Communication is the key and the golden ticket.

We sat down with expert communicator and Wizard Studios Executive Producer, Nikki Leynor to discuss communication as the key to sales success. After living out of a suitcase all over the world, Nikki found a home at Wizard Studios. “I selected Wizard Studios because they did both live events and had a custom fabrication studio. Even more important, our values were in alignment. It clicked from day one.” One thing is for sure, the value of clear communication is present in Nikki’s work and Wizard Studios at large. Read on to learn more about how good communication is the key to sales success and what you can do to become a master at communication.

IMPROVE YOUR CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS

Communication is essentially human interaction, which is required by professionals seeking success. Learning positive communication skills will not only benefit your sales and work life, but will help you become a better human being interacting in our world. The foundation of sales success is the ability to collect and supply information in a way that makes your audience want to engage with you. Good communication skills in sales build and improve client relationships. It has been proven to help build trust and long-lasting connections with clients.

Exemplary communication skills mean you understand your target audience. You care about them and what they like and dislike. Knowing that each client is unique, you adapt your strategy to fit their specific needs. That means you have to be incredibly attuned to your audience.

BECOME A MASTER AT COMMUNICATION

They say that if you're at a corporate event and are networking with strangers, pay attention to the person in the room who is intently listening but keeps mostly quiet. That is most likely one of the more successful professionals in the room. Why? Because listening, in fact, is the most important communication tool.

You see, improving your sales communication skills requires both verbal and nonverbal communication. Instead of going into a meeting thinking, “I’m here to sell something,” try thinking “how can I help this person”. And in order to help that person, you need to listen, empathize, and strategize.

Here are some tips to help you become a more skilled communicator:

  • Be the last to speak

  • Give your undivided attention

  • Check for body language

  • Pay close attention to what is unsaid

Make your customers feel heard and valued. We guarantee it will go much further than generic surface-level sales techniques.

FROM THE INSIDE-OUT

Like many aspects of good business, values must be exemplified from within the company. For example, if a company is externally supporting diversity and inclusion, it is important for audiences to see that being shown within the hiring of the company itself. The same goes for communication. If it is expected that companies have good communication with clients, it’s important for there to be the same respect and skills displayed when connecting with fellow employees within your organization. When asked about what sets Wizard Studios apart from the rest, Leynor explained “100% it’s our values. So many companies have their values posted on their website but they are lost in the day-to-day. I feel supported and that Wizard invests in my future. I've never had this before and I greatly appreciate it!” Proving your commitment each day to your company or your audience is a quick way to inspire confidence. Communication skills boost confidence very effectively and often deliver a visible change in the performance of employees and the commitment of clients.

Leynor shares how good communication is “without a doubt”, the most important quality to obtain in her job as an executive producer. “Both internally and externally. We've all heard the saying that the devil is in the details. There could be hundreds of emails, calls, and weekly meetings and it's crucial to recap each one of those calls with a summary of what was discussed to ensure we manage our clients’ expectations and our team's understanding of the deliverables.”

Wizard Studios values communication between all our experts and artisans and that same value is extended to our clients. We ensure that our clients are heard every step of the way and work to turn dreams into realities! Let’s get started on your next event and contact the experts at Wizard Studios today!
